Artsy Fartsy

Feeling artsy farsty tonight...or perhaps looking for a "legitamate" excuse to draw a naked woman...either way, this was the result. Faber Castell Pitt brush pen on manilla cardstock...the levels were altered in Photoshop to make the yellow pop for the background.

All Day Drawing

Got to spend the entire drawing as the wife was off on an all day bachelorette party...8 hours uninterrupted...pretty cool. This is my favorite of the 8-9 pages of sketches I ended up doing. Prisma color markers and sharpie opaque white. Top of the scan got a little screwed up since this is inside my sketchbook...

Playing with ink...

Stayed up too late last night to bother scanning anything, so this is actually drawn yesterday. I just purchased some Aqua Flow Brushes from dickblick.com and rather than putting just water in them like you are supposed to, I decided that since they were on clearance it was worth expirementing with. I put burnt umber ink into the pen along with some water just to play around with. The effects weren't great, but its fun to play with.

Second Post

Trying to get into/stay in the habit of drawing every day. Ever since I got out of school I haven't been quite as active as I should be. Thanks to steady employment I have all the neat little illustrators toys I wanted when I was drawing all the time...now I just need to use them!

Day One

For years I've been against the concept of blogs. Probably because I never cared enough to learn about them, and a very annoying roomate in college raved about the concept. I disliked her, therefore I disliked all things she liked. Then a couple weeks ago I stumbled across Drawn! and found out lots of cool artists were using them. So I figured what the hell, might as well give it a shot. Enough babbling, heres an E-doodle.
