just under a month

It's been almost a month since I posted anything, mostly due to laziness. I have been drawing some, however my power hammer is fully operational so there has been a lot of work going on in the garage for most of that time. Plus, I finally received my planishing hammer, so I'm pretty psyched about using it on the forms I create in the power hammer. The big monster is a direct rip from this guy...found his gallery on deviantart really late at night and wanted to see how he made his forms so I played around for a while. He does some really great work, totally out of my normal range, so it was fun. I'm super impressed with how clean and crisp his work is.

Haven't done much drawing lately...mostly just doodling small little snippets. It was kinda depressing...I went to the art store and realized there wasn't really anything I wanted to buy because I had so many things....and yet I'm still not producing much art.

It's been ages since I posted anything. Over the holiday I started reading Gaiman's Sandman (I'm a bad nerd and have never read these...), and this was inspired by my readings. Done with Art-Kure watercolor brush pens, which have to be the coolest things ever.

I don't know about me, but my life is mega crazy right now. Have been able to draw much at all lately. I am showing in the East Austin Studio Tour this weekend and all the last week and a half has been spent prepping for that. Funny that preparing for an art show doesn't allow me to draw...

Check out Dean Trippe's work...who I am totally stealing here. Taking a few minutes between programming...saw this guys work and wanted to draw his batman. Apparently I really liked it and couldn't have just one.

Castles

I have been able to draw as much (any) for the past couple weeks. My little brother is starting a business and needs a website in a hurry, so I have been spending all my time working on that. Finally took a few minutes for myself.

Doodle page

I keep a piece of card stock on my drawing table to do tests of colors, clean brushes, and cut on top of when using an exacto. This one sort of became its own thing, and I actually like it better than some of the drawings I have been doing lately.

It's been a week since I last posted, and I have (not) suprisingly little to show for it. The girl in black is from Wapsi Square, which is a really cool web comic I just found. My rendition is no where near as well done as the artist that does it...

I had this little hand bound leather sketchbook with paper made in Tibet or some shit....anyway it was just sitting around because despite its coolness, it was simply too small to actually draw anything. Turns out its the perfect size for these doodles that I end up doing all the time anyway.

Lack the patience
