Hal Wayne?

Green Lantern Batman...that would be one major asskicker. And then there is a crappy rendition of Superman....

Native American

It's really hard to find Native American artwork on the internet that doesn't scream of stereotypical. All the photos are so posed, that I have no idea how authentic the dress is or anything like that. Oh well. I want to do a story about Thunderbirds and I have been looking around a bit with little success.

long time no blog

Been really busy doing nothing lately...or at least I don't have any art to show for my time. Here is a doodle in Sumi-e ink (which I wish I had discovered sooner, this stuff is fun!) and watercolor...

More ink drawings

I've been really enjoying making these lately. I had this little hand bound leather sketchbook with paper made in Tibet or some shit....anyway it was just sitting around because despite its coolness, it was simply too small to actually draw anything. Turns out its the perfect size for these doodles that I end up doing all the time anyway.

Zodiacs

Here are some doodles done with brush and ink, inspired by the zodiac signs...or atleast a couple of them. Taurus, Ares, Scorpio, and Sagitarius.

Lack the patience

I lack the patience to be a comic book artist, though it has remained a life long dream. Doodled these out on scrap paper and composed it in photoshop. 20 minutes or so to do.

Cars

Cars are one of the many things that I have a very hard time drawing...even when looking at reference material. I generally have to look at a drawing to get even close, rather than drawing from life (which is my preference for most other stuff). Sadly I think that designing cars would be one of the coolest jobs ever...shame I couldn't do it.

Starship Troopers

Not the same crap from the piss poor Paul Verhoeven movie. I've always been a bit bitter about that movie, then I read that Verhoeven didn't even finish reading the book. Why did he get granted a license for material he didn't give a crap about? Anyway, here are some doodles of the power suits and I imagine them.

sculpture doodles

Been looking at a lot of sculpture lately...when I'm supposed to be working...heh. Check out this guy.

Hammer Time

I'm currently in the middle of building a third version of a power hammer...my wife considers it an obsession. Anyway...not much time to draw as of late is the point. Here is something I doodled out with copic markers on marker paper.

doodles

These are doodles that come to me just before bed at night usually. They are shapes that I dream about and hope to one day sculpt in metal...though they are bit beyond my skill level currently...and budget sadly.

more sketches

Just working from photos taken from the web. God Bless Google.

Sketch Book

My wife left the country for a vacation she and a buddy had been planning for over two years. She'll be gone for the rest of the month. The funny thing is, I thought I was going to have essentially have a month to do tons of art. Instead everyone I know is calling me up to invite me to do stuff, "so I won't get lonely". I haven't had a chance to get lonely yet! I've actually had less time to my self than I did when my wife was here. Finally got to do a little sketching around 1 am last night, and thought I'd post something. Hopefully I will be able to get back on track and start posting near-daily again.

Back online

My wife and I recently (sort of) had a home built and moved in on the 28th of April. We had requested that our cable and internet be transferred, but Time Warner screwed up and missed the first scheduled date. Because they were transferring our old phone number too they said that it took 10 business days to make that happen. In the missing the first scheduled appointment, they effed up and didn't get that paper work started...so here I am more than a month later and I finally have internet service again. They are truly blessed in the fact that they have a monopoly around here, otherwise they'd be out my business at the very least. sigh. Anyway, here's a painting I did last night...
